Windsurfing brings famous "boarders" from all over the world. The beach at Manzanita and Neahkahnie is one of the hot spots in Oregon. On sunny days with a brisk breeze the ocean blossoms with colored sails. It's nothing to catch the wind in the Columbia Gorge one day and hit the North Coast the next day. For protected boarding, Nehalem Bay is tops for beginning and intermediate wind surfing. You can probably get a few pointers or lessons from the natives. During the last weeks of June and the first weeks of July, during the big "blow out" in the Gorge,world famous windsurfers alternate between there and our North Tillamook coastal beaches.
